I had the park to myself and enjoyed padding down the needle-covered path and into the pine forest. The dappled light and crisp air buoyed my soul. I reveled in this cathedral of trees, grateful that for the moment, the masses were at church in this hour.
I dropped down to the gravel and sand at the edge of the Spokane River, then paused a while to enjoy the sunlight dancing on the water. Above me, a deciduous tree waved it's amber leaves to catch my attention.
